Am I covered in the event of an outbreak of war?

Robert Hewlett Last updated:

Our insurance policies do not provide cover for trip cancellations caused by a war outbreak. This means that if a war breaks out in your destination country and you need to cancel your trip as a result, you will not be eligible for reimbursement or compensation under our policies. It is important to carefully review the terms and conditions of your insurance policy to understand what situations are covered and what is not.

We may be able to amend your policy if you rebook your trip.

If you rebook a holiday, we can:

  • Change your travel dates on your single-trip travel insurance policy. Everyone can move their holiday dates at least 18 months from the date they bought their policy, or 24 months if you bought your policy from 29 April 2021 and are eligible. There may be an additional charge if there are any significant changes, such as changing your destination.
  • Also change your holiday destination to any other country that is safe to travel to, as long as there is no increase in cost. If there is an increased premium, you’d need to pay the price difference to change your cover.

If you need to make any modifications or adjustments to your Single Trip Travel Insurance policy, it is important to do so before your original travel date.

You have the option to make changes to your policy online by using MyStaysure. By accessing MyStaysure you can avoid any administration charges that may apply if you were to call and make amendments over the phone. MyStaysure provides a convenient and cost-effective way to update your policy without incurring any additional fees.
